You can download what’s called a Web Blog Editor program and use that to create and maintain the content that will appear in your WordPress website and inside your app from the same editor. This way, you don’t have to create the same article for both sites by logging into the separate web clients.

If you have Windows 7, you may already have “Windows Live Writer” (Website Link) which is a Free Web Blog Editor already installed on your PC. Microsoft Word can even be used if you have Microsoft Office.

If you have a iPhone, iPod Touch and/or an iPad, you can also use the WordPress App available from the Apple App Store if you need to edit your blog and app on the go!

QR Scanner Example

We are happy to announce a new addition to the HauntApps.com platform! Our new “Queue Line Entertainment System” using our QR scanning functionality.

One problem themed attractions face is keeping your attendees entertained while standing in line. Some attendees can wait up to 45 mins or longer depending on the attraction and crowd. How do you keep those guest happy while they wait? Some use in-queue actors while others play projected movies on large screens. But if your guest has their mobile phone, then they have a whole entertainment package in their hand already!

With our new Queue Line Entertainment System, you simply post a variety of small signs throughout your queue line with special QR codes printed on them. When a guest scans the QR code with your custom branded HauntApp, they are then displayed a special message, website, or even a video is loaded on their device.

Imagine being able to let your guest watch a series of specially created videos telling the backstory of your haunt and iconic characters while they wait getting them in the right mental state before entering your haunt! Over the past year, we have been reviewing all our clients request and bug reports to help improve the service. We have been endlessly working on building a new version of our mobile app that would fix the problems that have been affecting some of our clients and provide a whole variety of custom features that have been requested. I’m happy to say that with this new v.2 release of our app service, we have eliminated 99% of the bugs that effected their apps. Over the next several weeks, we will be updating our currently subscribed clients with this new version of our software.

We are announcing two new major features of the service!

Customers can now choose between two different user interfaces for their app. We now offer a new “Grid Interface” that consist of a series of icons displayed in a series of rows that a user can touch and be taken to different areas of the customers app. We also will continue to offer the “Tab Interface” that displays a series of icons across the bottom of the app. This is the traditional interface that we have been operating for the past year and will continue to support it.

As time goes on, we will be adding additional interfaces for our clients to utilize inside their apps. Finally, we are excited to announce the ability to create  iPad optimized apps! We’ve had a ton of request for this feature and we’re happy to announce that we can now include iPad optimized versions inside an iOS app. This means that when you signup for an iPad enhanced app, when a customer downloads your iPhone app from the Apple App Store, they can install that same app on their iPad and get a special version that takes advantage of the iPad’s screen size and features!
